GlidePanel

Where you can land, what airspace is ahead and who else is about — on one watch.

Low and circling, your glide computer turns to the thermal screen. GlidePanel keeps the four things you keep looking for on your wrist: where you can land, what airspace is ahead, who else is about, and what the wind is doing.

Seven pages, one button apart, under a rim that always carries north, the wind and an arrow to your field. Fields are ranked by the glide they need and turn green when reachable. Airspace warns before you meet it, laterally and in height — flight levels on 1013, the rest on QNH — and shows the frequency to call above its name. Traffic is a live plan view with a chime that says how close. You set your altitude at startup, wind is measured from your own flying, and the flight is recorded to Garmin Connect.

Your own landing fields (.cup) and airspace (.cub or OpenAir) load once through the free uploaders, so it works in any country. Live traffic streams through your phone, so GlidePanel needs Garmin Connect online for the whole flight; the default OGN + ADS-B feed is free, PureTrack is optional with your own PureTrack Pro. A recreational aid, not a means of separation or airspace clearance. Install it free from the Connect IQ Store and fly it for 14 days before you decide; buying ties the licence to your watch in one online step. The full manual is under Documentation below.
